Just thought I'd say hello.

Kind of dropped out of the BBS "scene" due to other things occupying my time and attention, but decided to pop back in, and I see some familiar names posting.

I've been following people on X more now, as the discussion seems relevant, but its good to come back to something a little quieter, sedate, and more detached from the mayhem of the world!

Reddit was one of the first ones I ditched. I found it quite toxic. Reddit has a particular "culture" about it, which seems quite bitter and myopic.

I haven't seen anything change since I left, but thats to be expected, and its not a bad thing either!

I never had a problem with Reddit users, but subreddit moderators -
that's a different story. Requiring flair, determining that a post was
"not meaningful", determining that a question needed to be in a weekly
post instead of a separate question... reminded me of BBSes of old.
